The Enneagram

When I was in high school I was introduced to The Enneagram somehow, someway. I was so intrigued by the personality profiles, that I went and bought a book about how it all works. After reading through the book, I knew then what "number" or personality type I was. It was quite obvious to me.
Years later, I still am bumping into people that also have a strong interest for The Ennegram and seem to  recognize my number type right away. I am a Two, The Helper, in every way. Strengths and weakenesses, postives and negatives, I am an all around Two. At least I can say though, that Mother Teresa falls into the same catagory with me. So that's cool to know.

Thunderstorms, in May. Really?

The weather has been so unpredictable and far from what it should be around here. Spring is on it's way out and Summer is right around the corner. But you'd never be able to tell because today as well as last week, it's been raining. On and off, coming down in bucket loads. But today actually brought thunder and lightening to the Bay.
The sky's are black and street corners are flooded.
Do I really need to pull out my rain boots and umbrella?

Colors, Textures, & Fabrics Oh My!

{love the simplicity of the white duvet w/ the orange pillows.
Looking closer, I actually think this is the exact duvet I'm registered for!}

{ shabby chic, simple w/earth tones}
{exposed beams & fireplace focal point}

I can't begin to list off all the home & garden, home decoration stores and websites I've been surfing through online lately.
You name the magazine or store, I've looked at the online layout entirely. No joke. My mind is one track these days, (besides the wedding which is an obvious) preparing for our move into out new three bedroom 1930's bungalow.
Looking at interior design is one of my all time favorite things to do whether it be flipping through Potterybarn and West Elm catalogues, or window shopping at Crate and Barrel and local flea markets. I love textures, fabrics, and design layouts of rooms. I'm a visual learning so interior design is very desirable to me.

Here are a few fabrics options, colors, room designs and furniture items that have caught my eye:

1}Tuxedo Ruffle Curtains  in Hot Coral, Mint, or Grey for our guest room/my office

2}Waverly Fabric for a round glass top bedside table skirt for master bedroom or guest room.

3}Mia Crystal Table Lamp for master bedroom bedside tables

4} Grand Embroidered Duvet Cover and Shams in espresso for our master bedroom.

Happy Weekend

And it's Friday!

I have no plans but to relax, recover and recuperate. (And surf the web for more creative design ideas and DIY projects for our new house!) But, thank god I can do that from the comfort of my own bed, or couch, or the floor....

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Under the Weather

Feeling sick is no fun.

After a weekend of packing up our apartment and celebrating my birthday, I woke up feeling sore, congested, and  just plain yucky. What a terrible way to start the work week.

So I decided to go into work bright and early to check my emails, voice mails and calendar to make sure the place would survive in my absence.  Everything seemed fine, and actually pretty slow for a Monday morning so I excused myself and headed home to my fiance, and my california king.

After hours upon hours of sleep, I finally was able to consume a small jamba juice, a piece of multi-grain toast, and a plain pancake with a dab of melted butter. (Breakfast for lunch or dinner is so comforting, I just had to indulge just one hot cake for my "lunch" today.) For dinner tonight, if I can make it to dinner, my fiance's going to make us sausage and veggie  soup. The thought of warm, salty vegetable broth, with a side of greasy grilled cheese sounds like just what the Dr. ordered.

In the mean time, I'm starting to get cabin fever and my fiance suggested that we go for a short walk around the block to get some ginger ale and some crackers. And despite my current appearance, faded brown velour pj pants and stretched out purple Old Navy long sleeve, I actually thought it sounded like a good idea. The windy cool air sounds refreshing right now. I just hope I don't see anyone I know! And maybe some hot tea when we get back. Mmm......

After our walk, I'm going to melt back into position in front of the tv, watch some re-runs of Tori & Dean, maybe take a hot bath, and wait until the house smells of veggie broth and melted cheese. That's my que to eat, then sleep, and anticipate waking up tomorrow feeling brand new. Let's hope.
